Who we are
bankd is developed and operated by Taylabs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17285833), registered office 53 Wickenden Road, Sevenoaks, TN13 3PL, England. Contact: bankd@taylabs.co.uk.
What we collect today
bankd currently has no backend server and no user accounts in the traditional sense. All gameplay data is stored locally on your own device using browser localStorage, and is never transmitted to us or any third party. This includes:
- A player-chosen username (moderated for offensive content on save, but not verified against any real identity)
- Gameplay progress: catches, tackle loadout, tier/level, competition standing
- Selected in-game character avatar
Because none of this leaves your device, we cannot see, access, or recover this data ourselves, and it is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app or clear site data.
What changes once subscriptions launch
Once the Pro subscription goes live via RevenueCat, we will additionally receive, via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play:
- A device/user identifier used to link a subscription entitlement to your installation
- Subscription status, tier, renewal date, and transaction history (RevenueCat does not give us your card details — those stay with Apple/Google)
We do not currently collect email addresses, and the App Store/Play Store account email associated with a purchase is not passed to us for marketing purposes — platform rules restrict this. If we introduce our own email capture in future, this policy will be updated first.
Third parties we share data with
| Third party | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Device ID, entitlement status, purchase history |
| Apple / Google | Payment processing for subscriptions | Handled entirely by the platform under their own privacy policies |
| Netlify | App hosting | Standard web server logs (IP address, request timestamps) per Netlify's own policy |
We do not use advertising SDKs, third-party analytics/tracking libraries, or sell personal data. bankd works with brand partners on sponsored in-game content (equipment, characters, lakes) — this is a commercial/licensing arrangement only and does not involve sharing your data with those brands. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
Children's data
bankd is a general-audience fishing game with no violent, gambling, or adult content. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children beyond the locally-stored username, which is not verified against real identity and never leaves your device today.
Your rights
Because gameplay data lives on your own device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing site data in your browser. Once subscription data exists via RevenueCat, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data by contacting bankd@taylabs.co.uk. UK/EU users have rights under UK GDPR/GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, and the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy as bankd's data practices change and will note the effective date at the top of the published version.
